My favorite hole-in-the-wall Banh Mi place in town! Well okay, maybe it's the ONLY place in Charleston that sells Banh Mi- but they sure do a great job! Most of the Banh Mi are $4, but the beef & grilled pork are $4.50. They have other specialty menu and they are all fantastic! My favorite is the grilled pork chops and bo bun hue. Oh and they have pho on Sundays! Their pho beef broth has an incredibly deep, rich flavor. You can tell that they boil it for a very long time to achieve that. Try em all!

Very good and very cheap. Tiny venue, if you blink you just might miss it. A real family type feel (kids drawings on the wall etc.) Having never had this type of sandwich I just looked at the menu on the wall and blurted out "Number 3 & 6 to go please." Five minutes later I was on my way. Both sandwiches were delicious. Well balanced is an apt description. The ingredients don't overpower, rather they harmoniously blend to form a palette pleasing flavor. While you're downtown check out the Mound just down the street.

cheap, good, fresh. where else can you find it. Worth the wait, worth to try,

It's hard for a card-carrying fat person to say this, but what really stood out for me on the banh mi sandwich was how fresh and crunchy the greens on it were. It really does add a texture to it that's very satisfying. Make sure and get the spring rolls too. This is kind of a hidden little place, very unassuming, but great food.

Ok, it can be spicy. Even as it tears your insides up, you can't stop eating it. Love the chicken curry. For a less spicy note, try the spring rolls. They are quite tasty. The bubble drinks are good. It's hard to find a better priced restaurant in the area.

Great sandwiches, and he makes his own bread fresh daily. The bánh mì sandwich is a steal at $4. The roast beef stew is amazing. Great little place with good, cheap eats and good service.

Worth the stop! Everything was fresh and tasty. The shop is nothing fancy, but the food was great. Very inexpensive.

They could charge double for the food they sell and it probably would't reduce their business at all. Their fresh sandwiches are so perfectly amazing! My favorite thing is the summer roll. His wife makes the BEST rice paper summer roll I have ever had. Pho Vinh Long used to, but now that they are under new management I come here to get the good stuff. My only complaint is that whenever I am in Charleston, they are closed. They don't always follow the hours posted on their door.

Really great food and a super nice owner makes this a must place stop for anyone. It is located on a cute main street and they have outdoor tables. You can't go wrong with anything here and the fresh baked bread makes every bite even more heavenly.

One of my favorite places to eat. Always super friendly and the food always seems fresh. I would recommend this place to everyone I know.

This is one of the reasons I use Yelp. What a find! Fresh food and very flavorful sandwiches. I had the Bahn Mi and enjoyed it. One of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. I definitely will be back here. Great spot in Charleston. I would has liked to add a picture but I ate it too quickly!

Great banh mi! It was so flavorful and the baguette they have was fresh. They also served smoothies with tapioca if you wanted, I got the taro smoothie with tapioca it tastes just like what you would get if you were in South East Asia. Once you go inside, you go straight to the counter to place your order, the prices are inexpensive but the quality of food is excellent. If you choose to eat in, just pick any available table (there's like 4-5 tables only) not a big place but the food, price and service makes up for it. For sure the next time I'm in Charleston I would be back to Yen's! This place is truly a hidden gem located in South Charleston.

The finest Bánh mì place I've come across. Fresh bread and ingredients every time. I recommend the chicken or the beef. The smoothies are very nice - my favorite so far is the kiwi. Many of the pastries are delicious, especially the mini cream cheese croissants. The high quality, low price, and convenience make this not only my favorite lunch spot in the area, but also one of my all-time favorite restaurants.

Sandwiches are delicious and priced so CHEAP! Everything is fresh. Best sandwich shop in south charleston. Definitely would recommend

Amazing!!!! First of all the place appears to be very clean and the staff is super friendly. The prices are awesome. I got a sandwhich, 3 little egg rolls and a taro bubble tea for $10.60. The egg rolls were good; probably store bought and deep fried there. The sandwich however... Was freaking awesome. I ordered the beed. It's on homemade bread with the marinated beef, cilantro, thin sliced cucumber, some carrot, onion, and some sort of pepper. (I thought it was just green pepper but it was spicy.) Anyhow this was a terrible review because I'm in a hurry but the bottom line is this place is cheap and delicious. I'm going back right now to get a sandwhich to take to work with me tonight!!

I really enjoy Yen's Sandwiches. Everything is so fresh and so cheap!!! I just picked up three pork meatball sandwiches and a bobba tea for around 15 dollars. It's nice to have a different type of sandwich once in a while, and the fresh bread and veggies really knock these into a different category than most anything around Charleston. I usually get the pork meatball sandwich and a Thai tea with bubbles. Enjoy!

Delicious food. Nice quick lunch. I had the shredded pork sandwich and my husband had the chicken curry. Both had a decent amount of spice. .. warm enough to satisfy but not so hot you couldn't taste the food.

Fresh ...Crazy Delicious Vietnamese Food!!! Sandwiches, Spring/Summer rolls, Bobba tea, and various other Vietnamese foods. The guy running this place makes the bread fresh daily. I have tried all of Mr Yen's sandwiches. Beef and Chicken are my favorites. pulled pork is also ...delicious. Ham is OK. I tried three types of summer rolls here. I think it depends upon what Mr Yen is feeling like making. 1vwas the traditional type with noodles, basil, shrimp, pork. The other had salami in it..another had sausage. .both came with a tasty dipping sauce and all were excellent. Recently Mr Yen has added a couple soups, curry dishes, and pork chops. The bobba tea is also awesome! Some of his desserts are pretty good too. I love this place. Very reasonable prices here. This is a new establishment and the guy running it is short staffed and English is not his first language. There are not a lot of seats...and it is not a fancy place....but I give him 5 stars for excellent food at a great price. I like this place....I'll be back!

I've only had banh mi in a few cities.. (Mostly just here & in DC)... But the fact that Yen's Sandwiches is a bakery really takes it to the next level! I love the pork meatball (#2). Service is great, prices are ridiculously low ($3.50 for a pretty decent sized sandwich!), and the quality of the food is amazing. Truly one of Charleston's best places to eat! I wish more people knew about it!

Great food, reasonable prices, and a great way to try something new. The smoothies are an amazing experience all in their own. The serving sizes are also large for what you pay.

I tried the chicken sandwich. Fresh, made to order, on homemade bread. Quality meat, fresh veggies, delicious!!! Best $3 I have spent in a LOOOONG time. This place is a must try. (Cash only for under $5, and you can easily spend less than $5 for a great meal.)
(5)Bryan C.
These Sandwiches are so good its confusing! Everything about them is fresh. Fresh produce, fresh bread, fresh mayo... and it is so cheap! I would happily pay $7 for these but each sandwich is only $3.50. But forget the price the main point here should be they are DELICIOUS! These are the kind of sandwiches you will crave and be sad when you try to go on a Monday and find they are closed.
